Selling On the Internet - Your Ecommerce Nightmare - Drop Shippers Reviewed Against Wholesale Purchasing

If you have come from here without reading the 1st part of this article series please visit this page - Selling On the Internet – Your Ecommerce Dream……. Or Nightmare!

All products in the free shipping area the tin signs, thermometers, magnets, wall hangings, etc. actually come from this site desperate.com. A regular customer can order from that site and get the price cheaper than what they are charging. These are not wholesale by any means. You will never be able to compete with this pricing online! We are not going to show pricing as it doesn’t matter, just go and purchase these items at that site if you want them. Your customers will surely purchase from them than you if they find this out.

On all products with the code 055DS these products are from Coynes Company. They have a $100 minimum on first order and reorders, another low minimum purchase requirement. IWGAC has a $150 minimum on these! You are already purchasing a minimum for the products in this section, it doesn't make any sense to purchase Coynes products from IWGAC.
IWGAC has now changed the minimum to $70 for products in this section, just days after this article was indexed in Google. It was $120 before the $150 minimum.- 1 Sept 2011.
Here are a few examples of the pricing:
Drop Shipper Reviews - Product Review - Williraye Figures. Drop Shipper Reviews -Product Review - Jewel Bracelets. Drop Shipper Reviews - Product Review - Shell Handbag. Drop Shipper Reviews - Product Review - Butterfly Fountain.
These products are listed below.
Whatever the minimum is at the Coynes website, IWGAC will sell them as set of the minimum amount. If you have to purchase 6 of the product at the Coynes site then you will purchase a set of 6 at the IWGAC site.

IWGAC product listings

055DS-WW2872 - Angel Nature’s Angel Ornaments 3 Styles S/6 -$42.48
055DS-PF4219 - Jewel Tone Charm Bracelet 6 Styles S/6 - $84.96
055DS-HF4105 - Shell Shoulder Bag S/2 - $14.16
055DS-D9253 – Butterfly Fountain S/2 - $38.23

Coynes Co. the true wholesaler

WW2872 - $5.00 X 6 = $30
PF4219 - $10.00 X 6 = $60
HF4105 - $5.00 X 2 = $10.00
D9253 - $13.50 X 2 = $27.00

Grand total - $179.83 From ordering the same thing from the real wholesale company the total is $127.00.

Even though the minimum has changed it is still just as easy to get these products from the TRUE wholesaler to lower overhead and make more profit! We will keep this article updated with this company as long as we can.
Shipping is probably less with the true wholesale company. Actual wholesale companies are pretty large and have accounts with shipping companies that they pay less than others, this however is only an observation of using several different wholesale for the trade companies, and doesn't necessarily guarantee it will be cheaper.

Wholesale Company Product Review - Reproduction Depression Glass. We are going to use one more company that IWGAC uses to prove they are not an actual wholesale company. They get their reproduction depression glass from AAImporting. All items with the code 01- come from AAImporting.

Wholesale Company Product Review - Reproduction Depression Glass.Pricing examples:
Pink Butter Dish - 01-16716 the listed price is $8.40 at IWGAC yet the true wholesale price is $4.75 at AAimporting. Pink Mayfair Cookie Jar - 01-2635 the listed price at IWGAC $15.04 the true wholesale price is $10.00.

We only give what we find to be the truth of what companies state they are and prove if they are exactly what they state or not. For those that have been with IWGAC since they started, they used to be IWDSC. They weren’t the true starting owners of IWDSC though. IWDSC was purchased from Jim Taylor sometime in 2008 or 2009 under the name of IM3 INC – Gretchen Russell was listed as the VP. It was probably closer to 2009. We found out that IM3 INC took 2 business (SBA) loans totaling in the amount of $1,915,000 in 2009. http://archive.sba.gov/loans/businessdetail/output/2009/busmo.html.

Apparently, their business was failing as they created a new name and a new website in August 2010. They were having links from IWDSC to IWGAC. They stated IWGAC and IWDSC were two different businesses; pricing was quite a bit more expensive on the IWGAC site. Well, technically speaking they were different companies. Gretchen’s Dad, Mike Russell is in charge of IWGAC. It is not known what happened with the loan or if the company filed bankruptcy under IWDSC.

It appeared there was some dishonesty going on, December 2010 the IWDSC was taken down, a page was created when it closed and they had links going straight to the IWDSC site. Then there was a statement the merger was complete on their website. This shocked many of IWDSC's loyal customers. There was no real warning.

IWGAC is a drop shipping company we do not use and would not recommend it to anyone to make money selling products online. Even without what happened from the change of company names their pricing structure is set up for them to make money and you very little. They were dishonest from the beginning when IWGAC was started. They are not the true importer/wholesaler of the products as proven here.

However, if you really don't want to order from all the different companies or store them at home and want to set up a website with a good selection of products then IWGAC is OK for that. Their website is easy to use and their products are easy to load on a website. They have all the data for you to do so.

The original owner Jim Taylor was able to get his products back and needs to sell them - IWDSC2.com. There are some great deals and for the small minimum of $100 you can easily purchase the products to sell. The products he is selling are very cheap, and hard to pass up. You can have a great mark up and make a decent profit!

Our conclusion we have between purchasing wholesale or using IWGAC as a drop shipper is a no brainer - it is wholesale for us if we want to make our dream a reality.
